Guidelines for practice, the space and class descriptions

Guidelines for practice:

  • Be on time!  I like to start and finish on time in honour of everyone's busy lives.
  • New students please arrive 10 minutes early for student registration.
  • If you're new to yoga or have any current injuries or concerns, please advise the teacher prior to class.
  • Please do not wear perfume or heavily scented products to class.  It may interact with breathing exercises and/or cause allergic or unpleasant reaction in fellow yogis.
  • Enjoy and observe silence before class, by sitting or lying quietly.
  • Remember, yoga is non-competitive.  Always practice non-harm towards yourself and others at all times.
  • Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach or 2 hours away from a heavy meal, or 1 hour away from a light meal/snack.
  • Yoga is practiced barefoot, remove shoes at the door.
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
  • You shouldn't experience any pain or major discomfort while practicing yoga.  Remember to honour your body and don't force or stretch beyond your personal comfort level.
  • Most importantly, come with an open heart and mind, recognizing that like anything in life, yoga practice requires discipline and commitment to enjoy its many benefits and blessings.
  • Don't forget to breathe!
